BABATUNDE

Olu Adefemi was a short, ugly man, but a legendary fighter and leader in West Egg. His Yoruba gang had no name, just "the fellas" or "the guys". He was betrayed and killed by three of his own men, but his people never forgot him. When a tall, handsome Nigerian-British stranger named Richard Adebanjo ("the crown fits me") appeared to take charge of the gang three years later, looking nothing like the late Olu, but having every bit of his strategic and fighting skill, they rejoiced and renamed themselves "Babatunde", or "Father has returned" in his honor.
