Concrete Park is an epic sci-fi story of young human exiles on a distant, desert planet. They live, love, fight and die in a sprawling town they call Scare City. It is a city in conflict, divided by rival factions whose bangers rule the streets. Will these exiles be consumed by the tribalism and violence they left behind on Earth, or will they make something new here, maybe even something beautiful? The answer may lie in a mysterious place they call Concrete Park.

About the graphic novel
Volumes 1 and 2 of the Concrete Park Graphic Novel.
Concrete Park by Tony Puryear and Erika Alexander first appeared in print in November of 2011 as a recurring feature in Dark Horse Comics’s anthology magazine, Dark Horse Presents. It presented a compelling new sci-fi story world that featured people of color in the future. Fan reaction was strong and within a year, Dark Horse arranged for Concrete Park to have its own monthly comic. The DHP stories and the monthlies were collected into two graphic novel volumes, which first appeared in print in 2013, selling through two initial printings.
Critically praised for its edgy social commentary, bold, colorful artwork and unforgettable characters, Concrete Park was selected as one of The Best American Comics and was the winner of the Glyph Award for Best Collection.

THE TEAM
Concrete Park was created, written and drawn by Tony Puryear and Erika Alexander.
Alexander is an award-winning actress, writer and producer known for her ground-breaking roles in Get Out, Living Single, Wu-Tang: An American Saga and the new hit series Run The World. Her upcoming Apple TV series is Ripple Effect with Elisabeth Moss. She is also the Emmy-nominated producer of the documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble.
Puryear is the first African-America screenwriter to write a $100+ million action film (the Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster Eraser.) He most recently wrote on the hit USA series Queen of the South. An acclaimed artist and designer, his work hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.
